INTRODUCING THE REKINDLED FARMHOUSE —
Formerly known as 18th Century Furniture, we are the retail store for 18th Century Builders. To rekindle is defined as to renew, revitalize, revive, and relight. That is precisely what we do with lumber, which then goes into our creations for businesses and homes — revitalizing indoor and outdoor spaces. Our customers tell us that this, in turn, rekindles their spirits. And since the products in our showroom are authentic farmhouse style, we knew we had the perfect name. All public-facing mediums will fall under this division.

The Rekindled Farmhouse — Authentic farmhouse-style furniture and decor
18th Century Builders
For longer than three decades, 18th Century Builders has provided sales, custom design, and installation of antique reclaimed barn wood, hand-hewn beams, wide board flooring, weathered barnboard, complete barn homes and additions, custom cabinetry, built-ins, and furniture of antique lumber. We work with architects, builders, interior designers, commercial managers, and homeowners. We invite you to visit our portfolio, then contact us with any questions.
The Rekindled Farmhouse
Our showroom in Sugar Loaf, New York, is under new sales management so our founder can be even more focused on designing and building these high-demand products. Right down to the small wooden stars, what you see in the store exists, so minimal waste is incurred with our more extensive jobs. Come in and see the beauty and durability of our designs. You will understand why we say, “Our creations last for generations.”
The Beauty and Benefits of Reclaimed Lumber
There are countless benefits to your decision to use reclaimed wood. These are just a few.
You:
- protect the lives of the forest animals who rely on trees for habitation.
- receive a product that is more durable. Old wood that has been exposed to the elements for longer has already done its expanding and contracting.
- experience the depth, character, unique shading, and beauty that can only come from aging
- help prevent slow-composing wood from entering landfills and releasing the gases that have been blamed for global warming.
- enjoy wider planks from wood that has had a chance to mature
18th Century Builders is more than a supplier. Working with architects and designers, we custom-create each solution to fit the unique needs of our clients.
Answers to FAQs
from Founder and Master Craftsman,

Floors, cabinets, ceilings, hand-hewn wood beams for various accent areas, vanities, kitchens, outdoor spaces, mantels, feature walls, decking, built-ins, furniture, and much more. These are just the more popular uses. The beauty of old wood is the depth of character and colors. If you can envision it, our designers will create it.
We work primarily with architects, designers, and builders but we have worked directly with homeowners or commercial property owners as well.
First, we review or discuss the design plans. If we are installing the items we have created, we plan a site visit. After these are complete, we produce a project estimate and contract. A 50% deposit is due upon contract agreement to begin production. The balance is due upon completion. If the project scope exceeds a certain time period, we break the payments into installments.
Yes, of course. While we install approximately 75% of the lumber we sell, we will execute a direct sale if the homeowner or builder wishes to handle the installation. All of our lumber (weathered barn siding, antique flooring, and both hand hewn and saw cut beams) are sold by the board foot. If you are calculating your own needs, always add 10% for waste.
We encourage our clients to visit the store if possible. It is a showcase not only of our furniture, but our building material as well.
It is located at 58 Wood Road, Sugarloaf, New York 10981
